Headin' for the Slopes

What do you get when you load up one bus and a car with 32 students/chaps and 2000 pounds of luggage? AN EPIC WEEKEND OF AWESOMENESS IN NORTH CAROLINA. That's right, we're hittin' the slopes of Sugar Mountain, NC this weekend for what will be a great start to 2010. Not only are we jumpin' moguls and setting ski speed records, we'll be joining 1500 students at Appalachian State University to worship God through teaching, music, drama, and whatever awesome stuff Student Life comes up with.

There's a few things you could pray about for us while we are gone....

1. Pray that what is learned and expereinced during worship is not left in the mountains. I expect God to radically change lives this weekend, not just for a week but for a lifetime.

2. Pray that our church will have an incredible morning of worship while our students are away. I always want FBCQ to be the place the lost, the saved...pretty much everyone wants to be on Sunday mornings.

3. Pray for our physical protecttion. We don't want anything to take away from what God wants to do in people's lives this weekend.

4. Pray for our adult leaders. Pray that God will use them as a tool to craft Himself into them. Pray for the conversations on the bus, the hotel room, the ski lifts. As my buddy Jonathan Merritt says, "conversations creates change." Pray that life-changing conversations happen this weekend.
