I have no excuses for why I haven't updated in such a long time. I'm simply a procrastinator and I'm lazy. At least I know who I am. But I will say that I'm asking Christ to change these things in me, because I've been trying to fix myself for 15 years and it hasn't worked yet. Here's a few things that have gone in my life since I last posted.
1. My bro-in-law Philip left for ATL. Up and gone. I'm glad for him though because he's starting a new chapter in life.
2. I'm back in class. Every Monday I'm heading over to Graceville to work on completing my Masters. Slow and steady wins the race.
3. Tropical Storm Fay came through. It wiped out our Block Party and knocked down a few limbs but we survived. It's spooky riding around your town at midnight when there are absolutely no lights on.
4. My Granny met the Savior. On Labor Day weekend, my granny died and got to meet Jesus. It was tough for my dad and his family. I had the privilege of leading her memorial. It's so much easier to grieve with hope (I Thes. 4:13)
5. PG (Pastor Gus) caught pneumonia. He spent 10 days in the bed which meant I filled in on two Sunday mornings. I know our church will be glad to see him back this week.
6. The Block Party was rescheduled for Sept. 21. It's been a madhouse getting ready for it, but I'm pumped about meeting the community and people far from God.
7. Alabama's 3-0 and looking good. Put a whoopin' on the best from the ACC and a couple easy wins so far. Georgia's around the corner and I hope we're ready.
8. Sara Beth and I started working out. I keep the blinds closed so you can't see how stupid we look doing cardio in the living room. I will say that Comcast OnDemand is sweet. 100's of free workout routines. My goal is 10 lbs by the end of the year.
So now you're caught up. Nothing major going on here. I will say that I'm pumped about the next few months around FBCQ. Block Party coming up this weekend. Fall Retreat for our students in October. Community-wide Fall Fun Night and many more opportunities to reach our community for Christ. See ya Sunday.
