it's a huge week at FBCQuincy...

Man am I pumped about this week!!! This is the kind of week that has huge impact in the life of our community and the life of our church. On Thursday night we'll be out at the Quincy Softball Complex for Kids Night. Our student ministry will be face-painting, blowing up balloons, and and serving sno-cones to the kids at the softball complex. We will be Christ to a community that hasn't seen Christians in action in a long time. Then on Saturday, our children's ministry & student ministry will be at QuincyFest (blues & bar-b-que) to serve kids and students again. The students will have a booth for teenagers to hang out and play Guitar Hero, while the children's ministry will be serving popcorn, face-painting, and doing all kinds of other things.

Maybe you read this and say so what? What's the big deal? The big deal is that it's been a long, long.....LONG time since FBCQuincy has been plugged into our community. That's kind of embarrasing to say, but we are turing this thing around starting this week!!! It's time to leave the committee meetings, church walls, comfort zones, and apathy behind. We live to serve Christ, and we serve Christ by serving others.
