As if I'm not consistent enough with this blogging thing, you won't see anything new for the next few days as I'll be at Student Life Camp with some of our students. Summer camp is always a great student ministry experience. Aside from dealing with sickness, guy/girl drama, jr. high boys gas-passing, and six days of not sleeping in my own bed, it's a week like no other. Worship will be incredible. The teaching will be even better. The recreation will be great. The break from the routine is appreciated. Summer camp tends to be a week where students finally take the time to listen to God speak. There are no distractions. No cell phones. No myspace. Just their fellow students and a few hundred more seeking to worship and have some fun. While our students are away, here are few things you might pray for.
1. Pray that students would not just hear God speak, but that they would listen.
2. Pray that students would come back dangerous for the sake of the Gospel.
3. Pray that students would be contagious to those that didn't go with us upon their return.
4. Pray that students would forget everything they left behind and focus for one full week.
5. Pray that all of us would bring glory to the name of Christ in all we say in do while we are gone.
I'm expecting the Holy Spirit to go to work next week. He has a habit of doing that when we're ready, waiting, and willing.
See you in a 10 days.
