I've never been good at staying consistent on a daily routine. I'm sure this comes as no suprise to you if you have noticed the length of time that has passed since my last post. I'm not prideful enough to believe that anyone really cares that I've failed to post anything new in a few weeks, but if you have been by here lately and come up empty on your quest for my thoughts, then I apoligize.
Last night, our students hosted the 2008 Syrup Soppin' & Bluegrass Concert with the Bottom Dollar Boy$. It was a great time, as we slapped on bibs and got sticky all while enjoying some banjo pickin' and some southern whalin' on the mic. The event helped raised money for our students who are going to summer camp this year. I want to say thank you to all of those who attended and showed their support for our students by purchasing tickets. An even bigger thank you goes to those who helped by making biscuits, cooking sausage, and serving in the kitchen. The event was a big success and one that I hope to see become a staple on our calendar--even if it's not a fundraiser.
In other news, I just started reading a biography on Abraham Lincoln. He's got a pretty sweet story. I had no idea that at age 7 Abraham was saved by his brother from being scalped by indians. He survived a near-drowning at age 12 when he slipped into a river. I just always thought of him being the President with the coolest beard of all time.
