No other time in the year presents a more natural time for us to invite family, friends, and neighbors to hear the Gospel than Christmas. The season brings a unique receptiveness to an invitation and we must do whatever possible to be the conduit that connects others to Christ.
This being said, if you are a pastor or church leader, don't let the season slip by without making numerous clear and relevant presentations of the Gospel at every church event. Don't just allow people to enjoy a musical; make them consider the Gospel. Don't just host a small group/Sunday School party; make them consider the Gospel. Don't just host tons of events to keep people busy; make them consider the Gospel. Every time.
Yes there are life application points we can learn from Joseph, Mary, the Wise Men, the shepherds...but the story of Christmas is that God gave the gift of Jesus to satisfy the penalty of sin because nothing else could. Seize the moment. Give people the Gospel this Christmas.
