Intro to the Old Testament

Today I return to the ranks of the seminary heads. I love a lot of things about seminary. I've learned to study the Bible like never before. I've been challenged to think and develop my theological stances not by what I've been told, but what I've read throughout Scripture for myself. And, I've met some really cool guys that are changing the world in their local setting.

This semester I'm really looking forward to my Intro to the Old Testament class. While many people look at the Old Testament as a summary of the "Old Testament Version of God", it is certainly not. Within each passage of the Old Testament, we can find a precursor for Christ. This is known as a "Christocentric View" of the Old Testament. Behind the scenes of the Old Testament, God is setting the stage when He can give His Son Jesus to fully satisfy the punishment of sin and restore a right relationship with humanity. You can Jesus Christ all over the pages of the Old Testament. From beginning to end, Scripture and history was, and is, and will always be about Jesus Christ.

Don't be intimated by the Old Testament. Search for Christ inside of it, and see how amazingly patient, loving, and good our God is to set the stage for His miraculous redemption plan!
